About Us
My Story:
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Taryn. I have been fascinated with turtles since I was a little girl. I saw a baby turtle the size of a half dollar and ever since then I had to have one. When I was little, they could only sell turtles that were four inches or bigger. I got a hamster instead (I liked them at the time too). Well, I got older and moved around and traveled. My husband and I took a trip to Florida and visited one of their biggest flea markets. And there they were. A whole tank full of baby red ear sliders! I fell in love. I instantly had that “I gotta have” feeling. So we did it. We walked around and found an aquarium with accessories and headed straight back to those beautiful babies. We picked out three little baby red ear sliders. My sliders have since passed away, but their legend still lives on.
Why did I make AllTurtles.com?
I made All Turtles for several reasons. First of all, this was my first website. I wanted to try new things in hopes to make something of my new talent someday. And what a better way to start is with a subject that I love… Turtles. As I made the first version to All Turtles I grew more and more attached and started to learn all that I could about turtles. No, I’m not a Veterinarian or even a Herpetologist, but I probably come close.
My second reason for making All Turtles was to find the information out there and organize it better. When I started researching on the Net about turtles, there were so many different places to look. And that’s the thing, so many places. I wanted to make it better. I wanted to have a more centralized website that was easy to navigate and easy to read. I wanted to put in a language other than the text book versions. I know some parts do get a little text bookie, but some parts I could not help.
My Mission…
To make the best Turtle Web Community. To make All Turtles more interactive for you… the visitors of all ages. To be the best user friendly and easy to navigate turtle website.
