I have a female RES, about 11 inches, and noticed lately, that she seems to sleep ALOT more than before,(with her light on). She stays inside all the time, so I don\'t think hibernation is a answer,(could be wrong). She eats plenty and acts healthy, just wondering if anybody else notices this with adults. I\'ve had her since she was 5 inches, and she didn\'t sleep this much before. Just wondering if this normal.

What\'s the water temp and the basking temp? Have you changed her habitat in anyway? Are there any other changes? Lethargy and poor appetite MAY be a sign of illness. I say may. Just keep a close eye on him.

Cheers,
JJ :)

RES can go into a half-hibernation thing, they sleep alot but still eat.
Think it\'s the water temperature, if not, consult a vet.

I have changed thier tank, from a 40 gal. to a 55 gal., but that was a while ago. The water temp is at 78 degrees, with basking about 80 -82, I\'m guessing. She eats plenty, and doesn\'t seem sick at all. I have a softshell in there also, and he has not changed, I just wondered if this is common or not.
