I went to the turtle first aid part of this site, because my turtle has a hole in it\'s
shell. It says:1. Wash the wound out with an antiseptic.2. Apply an antibiotic.3.Close the wound with an epoxy. I did the first two, but what is an epoxy?

Epoxy is a resin that is used in adhesives and coatings, etc. You can buy it at most hardware, and possibly pet stores. I think there are different types of epoxy, so I\'m not sure what would be the best to use. I\'ve also read several places that you should use a small fiberglass patch and then aply an epoxy. I\'m not really sure though, because I\'ve never had to do it. Try searching the internet for shell care, they talk about epoxy, and the fiber glass patches.

Thank you.
Last time I had to do that I used newskin and
a small cirlce of plastic. It worked pretty well but I didn\'t know if it could harm the turtle at all. I tryed the dry tank for a few weeks but I didn\'t want to keep her there for months and months while it healed so I\'m trying to find a safe way it can heal and so she could swim and have a normal life.

Oh I remember your posting about that.

Go to this first site, look under \"turtles with injured shells require special treatment.\" They talk about it in detail. The second site is another helpful one, but try the first one first.
