Help! I\'m 12 years old, and I rescued a turtle from this pond near my house (they are going to bulldoze the entire place!)And he/she has a small, flaky hole in her shell.
This is my first year with turtles, my first one fell from the sky...a bird droped her.
Anyways, I think it\'s getting infected, and right now we\'re putting gentain violet on and quarintining her for now. Is this what we should be doing? Is there something I missed?

There is a product called \"Nolvasan\" that is great for cleansing a turtles shell, it can be bought at some vets, or over the internet (how I got it) Also, another product that is good is \"polysporin\" (an ointment) which can be gotten at the drug store, over the counter. I have used both with great success.

here is a link:

you want the \"skin & wound cleaner.... it is a good thing to keep on hand - you never know when you will need it.

Thanks for your advice.
I tryed polisporin, but it dried inside her
shell and it smells like dead animal, I\'ll
try to get that other stuff you mentioned.
The hole\'s to small to see very much, but I\'m
afraid that the bit of shell covering it will
fall off, and can turtles get gang green?
