just got my first two RES turtles...

Post any questions you have about a turtle indoor setup here. Or if you have a link to your indoor setup picture we would love to see it.

One more question, how do you set up basking areas? And how do you set up the lighting since the tanks have hoods?

Foster & Smith online seem to have very good prices on their bulbs - the Repti Sun 5.0 is $18.79. Here at the pet stores I have seen the same bulb for anywhere from $22 to $34. They sell the light fixtures (for 18 inch bulbs) for $20. I just bought (but haven\'t gotten yet) the T-Rex Active Bulbs. I have read that they are excellent - they are both a UVB bulb and a basking lamp in one bulb. So, in the long run it is worth the $44. If anyone here has used them, let us know how you like them.

10 gallons won\'t suffice for your RES unless you\'re going to make a big terrrarium. You\'ll eventually need something between 40 and 75 gallons.
Filters are found in all forms, you should have a wide assortiment in any aquarium shop.

What do you mean by that? Listen, first of all, did you check their sexes? If they\'re male and female you\'d better prepare for some breeding which requires big installations. I mean it man, buy a 40-75 gallon tank!
