I am getting a red ear slider really soon. I want to put its tank on my porch or deck. Both are covered and weather is\'nt a problem. I live in southern florida, so it has good teperature for an outdoor turttle. Or I can put them right by my window. I just wanted to know if it is a good idea or not. If so, please tell my what I need. Thanx!!

Sitting him by the window is ok, but you will still need a light for UV rays. He has to have a basking area, and the temp. needs to be warm enough.

But make sure it doesn\'t get too hot in his house!! Unless you want turtle soup!

DON\'T put a glass tank outside or in front of the window. The temperature can rise too fast, killing the turtle. Also, the glass will block any of the good uv rays from the sun.
