My turtles shell seem to me pilling off from the bottom. Is that bad? Thanks for your help.

my turtles have shed scutes on the top part of their shell, but I\'ve never had them do it on the bottom. I don\'t really know if thats normal or not. Maybe some of the more senior members know...

More than likely, they do shed from the bottom of the shell as well, I have read of some turtles starting to peel from the bottom shell.

I think that we rarely see it because they spend most(if not all) of the time with their top shells showing and not the bottom:D

Does it happen, because they are in the water too much time? Thanks for you help.
Luis.

If the water temp. is ok, then it is just normal shedding, all turtles do it. I wouldn\'t worry too much.:D

shedding is a sign of growing..my turtles peel skin from their necks too:)

and no staying in water doesn\'t have to do with it..if they do a lot they\'ll get shell rot or something similar but not shedding
