The color on my turtle\'s shell seems to be \"melting\". Like she was a painting and somebody doused her with water and now it\'s all drippy. I don\'t think it\'s shell rot because there isn\'t any thing like that on her. Any idea what it might be? I think she\'ll be a year in April, and she\'s a Yellow-bellied slider. I\'ll try to get some pictures.

yeah, we need pics because I\'m worried about my turt\'s shell too. its shell looks dirty from one angle, but his colors are very vibrant from another. I get confused.

Now that I take a better look at her, it seems that she is just brown now, and you can barely see her yellow stripes. Her sister (I\'m guessing) is still green and pretty. Here are pictures...

This is Squirt\'s shell (hers is the bright green colorful one):

And here is Kiwi\'s shell (the brown dull one):

I hope these helped... They aren\'t very good because of my gay digital camera.

My turtles had the same problem. A melting painting is an EXCELLENT description. The colors and lines were very sharp and well defined, and now both turtles\' shells (both top and bottom) are more blurry. One turtle has gotten much darker (The one I believe is female) and the other turtle got much lighter (the one I believe is a male) Is this normal?

Nah, you could never love them too much, just don\'t do too much kissy face at them, they might get embarrased in front of other turtles:D:D
