My turtle (RES) is a little past 3 1/2 inches long, from top of shell to bottom. It\'s nails are kinda long, but not even close to most of the male RES\'s nails that I have seen. I thought it was a boy, but now my mother and I think it is a girl. Do you know what it is?

check this and scroll down to the \"Is my Turtle a Boy or a Girl?\" section..u can\'t only tell from the nails..and maybe it\'s a boy but bcz he\'s not fully grown his nails are not that long like the one in the picture..i think that\'s a problem with info. sites bcz they give u pix of only advanced stages of anything (growth, diseases,...)

Measurements are taken from head to tail, (Might have read it wrong), anyway you really can\'t tell how old and most times their sex while they are still very young, apart from the nails, males will have a longer thinner tail, females will have a chubbier shorter tail, other than that who knows:D
