I have red eared sliders and when trying to get my filter running I used my mouth to siphon the water to get it running and some nasty turtle water got into my mouth but I dont think I swallowed it.

Should I take any antibiotics? Should I be overly concerned? Any suggestions

oh how does this taste?!
i never saw care sheets for turtle owners but i think the best thing to do is:
1- drink some milk (it helps clean ur stomach)

2- try to throw-up

3- the best thing is to call a dr. or a pharmacist and ask what to do

i know this si from awhile back, but I wouldn;t worry about it too much. It happens quite often with me. Just drink lots of water or milk to dilute it. ;)

TO CLEAN MY TURTLE\'S TANK I JUST USE THE SAME TOOL I USE FOR THE FISH TANK. I JUST PUT THE WHOLE TUBING AND HARD PLASTIC HEAD IN THE WATER TO GET ALL THE AIR OUT AND WHEN MY BUCKET GETS FULL I PUT MY THUMB OVER THE HOSE AND HOLLER TO MY HUSBAND TO COME DUMP IT THAT WAY I DON\'T LOSE THE GOOD SIPHON UNTIL THE TANK IS EMPTY!!!

BET YOUR TURTLES GOT A GOOD LAUGH IF THEY WERE WATCHING!!! :-)

Lol, I wouldn\'t worry about it.

We have so much acid and anti bodies in our \'stomachs\' that nothing should come about of it. The most you\'ll get is a whee bit of a stomach upset, but it should be cleared within a few days.

Drink plenty of fluids, and your own filtration system should remove the potential nasties... *rolls eyes*
