that\'s cool u got golden turtles..the cooler things is that both of them developed those gold spots..someone here had a golden turtle too and the spots stayed there for sometime but i think they are disappearing now..enjoy them they look great:)

you are right they do have a very long spikes above their necks .
they look like klingon warriors !!!
that is unick , and both of them have it .

the aquarium is 1meter [3ft] triangle panoramic [bow angle]
100cm x 65 cm x 65 cm

they are almost 4 years old so i dont think they get much bigger .
i know they are shedding becase just a few weeks ago they shed their skin and today i saw a piece of thin shell on the gravel.
that is why i was worried .
because i never used a uva+uvb light
because its not sold here for some resone .
i balanced their D3 with their diet ,
using raffy mineral with raffy e and p from SERA and some time used tetra and shrips .
but now i have an uncale visiting me from canada winnipeg and i told him to buy me 2 florecent 5.0 uvb+uva full spectrum . to help them with their shell shelding .

one more thing i always thought i have 2 males - now i think i have 2 females .
they have short tales and short nails .

Scutes that have air trapped under them when a turtle is going to shed will often look a metalic color, especially when the turtle is in the water. Glad to hear you\'re getting them UVB lights.

I wish my turtles shell looked like that. my frogs(albino) have a metallic/fiery look in their eyes.
