Turtles shed their skin as they grow, but the shedding shouldn\'t be that noticeable and really visible in the water but not out of it. If the shedding is excessive and/or prolonged, perhaps it\'s due to something else. What, how much and how often are you feeding her? Also, what is the temp of the water and basking area? Temps that are too warm will also encourage the skin to shed. Also, how often is the water being changed? Dirty water will often have a high ammonia level which can also cause shedding.
