I have a male slider, going on 10 years old, who unfornutately lost his friend, a huge female of the same age.

My question is, can I safely add a younger turtle or two to the tank. He is in a brand new 90 gallon tank with plenty of room for company, but he likes to chase goldfish, so I\'m concerned that he will not recognize a small turtle as other than food.

Thanks

Scott

You might want to put them in a smaller aquarium right beside the other aquarium so that the bigger turtle will get used to seeing them close by without trying to snap at them.

If there is a big size difference, You shouldn\'t put him in the same auarium. RES can be very territorial.

Adding a young RES to a tank with an older male? BAD IDEA!!! unless the turts are almost the same in size, keep them seperate but close. like straykingfisher said, just put them it two different setups next to each other.
