I am a new turtle owner. Never owned a turtle before so, I have some questions...sometimes my turtle lifts his head seems like all the way up..what does that mean. And do turtles make noises when they are hungry or lonely?

Yes, I think I have all the right equipment. So, turtles make sounds? I believe I heard mine make a sound. But, when he lifts his head does that mean that e is hungry? He does not move around much. Had him now for 1 week. He stays in one corner and looks out.

You will learn quickly that turtles are ALWAYS hungry... they would eat constantly if you would let them. I know that Joe treads water and lifts her head very high begging for food. Sometimes she lifts her head while basking, to get just a little closer to the \"sun\". I have yet to hear her make a noise, but she does hiss when I pick her up to go outside.
