the slimy stuff is on the one that doesn\'t bask..yeah i thought it\'s algae but it is a serious thing? i tried to cleam it off twice yesterday..that turtle doesn\'t bask but i\'ve been forcing her to get on the rocks by putting warm water in the tank so she gets on them and it works for few moments

Mine have never had algae, do you think it is an inside turtle thing? And mine bask when I\'m not looking, like I will sneak up on them and see them basking for a split second, then they see me and...ZOOM! They\'re really shy, meaning they don\'t like to be seen basking, but at meal time it\'s a different story. Maybe she doesn\'t like to bask while you are there.

its very important for turtles to bask
do u have a proper basking lamp
are u sure he don\'t wait till night to bask
my res will not (no matter what )bask when any one is in the room or near his tank
i used to take mine out in another tank (or dry box) and put the basking lamp ( at a safe distance) on the top and let him in for no long then 1 hr.
once a day
