Hi,
I woke up this morning and found this turtle on the road in front of my car I live in an apartment complex in Northwest Ga.
My kids love it and wants me to keep it but I don\'t know the 1st thing about turtles, but I do want to identify it any ideas?

How big is it?

Can it completely close up in it\'s shell?

Do you have it in water or on land?

What are you feeding it?

Give it access to water (deep enough for it to swim in) and land, about equal amounts of both.
Feed it whatever it will eat (live bugs, fruits, veggies, cooked meat (not a lot), turtle pellets).
If it can completely close up, it is some from of box turtle.

Yeah, I tried it too, but had no success, so I left it alone, I figured someone else might have better luck:D

You\'re welcome, I did a search on the scorpion tail but I could not find any reference to it so I gave up, then I saw that turtle on this webpage http://markmlucas.com/Turtlegallery.htm and thought that might be the one you meant, I wasn\'t trying to correct you just curious about that turtle, they didn\'t give any info on the turtle other than their name. I haven\'t done a search on the scorpion mud turtle yet.
