Canister filters are considered to be the best for larger tanks (and for 65 gallons, that\'s what I\'d use). The most popular are Fluvals, Filstars, Eheims (most expensive and top quality) and Magnums. You should read up on each to find the one you think is best for your situation. But, you need a filter that\'s rated for at least 3X the size of the tank for it to be really effective, whatever brand you buy, so get the biggest you can (you can also continue to use it when you upgrade your tank).

You can read some info on filtration here: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Articl ... ration.htm and compare some models here: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Community/review.htm#F (after the heaters and lights). When you decide what you want, buy it on-line, it\'s much cheaper than at a retail store.
