another question

i have a peice of wood in my tank as a basking spot but the bottom of the branch has this white stuff covering the whole branch thats under water. AND is slimy, and slipery. What is it? Should i get rid of it? How do i get rid of it?

Did you get the wood from outside? I would be careful with anything you pick up. It should be sterilized before putting it in the tank. It may be carrying parasites or other things that my not be good for your turtle. I would go and get some drift wood from the pet store. That would probally be the safest thing if you choose to use wood for a basking area.

no i got the branch thing from the pet store :) not from outside. but thanks for the response

did you wash it before it was put in?
get a feeder fish rom eptco or petsmart and let it goto town
the turtle wont bother it
its too big to eat if it sees it
