I was hoping to get some help on transporting a Red Ear Slider cross country. I\'ll be moving in October and I have a turtle that I need to move with me. Can any one help with advise on how to trasport my turtle. I would really appreciate it. Thank You.

You should keep your turtle in its enclosure with no water! instead, use wet towels or paper towelsand keep your turtle\'s appliances out of the tank.

if flying, be sure to ask the airlines if you can carry it on. that is the best bet for your turtle not getting hurt.

Most airlines will not allow turtles to fly in the passenger compartment (although this definitely would be preferable). If they allow the turtle in cargo, make sure it\'s pressurized and heated for animals. Some info on traveling with turtles (by car and plane) can be found at http://www.turtlecare.net/fly.htm
