I am relativly sure that my RES, Rock Biter, has a respitory infection, she is about an inch and a half long. I know i should take her to a doctor but i really don\'t have the funds. If there is anything i can do to save my baby turtle without a trip to the vet. please let me know
-Thanks

TAke some time and read some of the other posts that deal with respiratory infections (like on page 2 of this forum--Sick RES, Eyes and Won\'t Eat, etc.). To boost your turtle\'s immune system, up the water and basking area temps (water about 82-83F, basking area temp 90-92F--check with a thermometer). Keep him out of drafts and breezes. This is NOT a substitute for a herp vet, especially if your turtle has been ill for a while. If he shows no improvement over the next few days, he absolutely needs one.

when my res was sick i lowered the water in the tank. make sure the water is about 80
i took him out for a hour at a time in a dry seperate tank w/ the basking light put him back in the water for an hour alternated all day and i got dr. turtle for the water that was in the tank change the water every day
i think the thing that helps the most is heat keep him warm
