i currently have 2 turtles <res> in a 10 gallon tank one is 3inches the other is probably 1.5. obviously the tank is just to little for them the way it is set up now with a ramp and bricks to hold up the basking area

so im going to get them a 20 gallon tank
i know where to get the tank and hood
but ive been looking for a filter and heater
right now they have a heating pad under the tank
but its to small to deal wtih a 20 gallon tank
and they dont have a filter
is there a specific brand of filters and heaters set up for turtle tanks?

Instead of getting the 20 gallon i would go bigger. Theres no point if you keep upgrading the tanks. That waste alot of money, trust me i have learned the hard way. Id reccomend no smaller than 100 gallons for your turtles. res are not good for begginers b/c they dont know what they are getting themselfs into. ill give you a good care sheet and web site to answer almost all your questions.-->http://austinsturtlepage.com/

also feel free to stop by www.turtleforum.com your questions will be answerd the same day if not the same hour.
