It looks like some kind of fungus. It would be good to take them to a herp vet to determine exactly what kind and the appropriate medication for it.

well all fungus infections are serious
but if you can catch it and get rid of it you should be ok
just get them treated and treat the tank to
so you dont end up with it back
good luck

ok we visited the vet, a specialist with reptiles, and he said its a fungus infection
he gave them antifungal shots and prescribed sunlight and clean water
i guess the problem is ive been using drinking water instead of tap water with chlorination

while all this is happening, one of the bigger ones (3 bigger ones, 3 smaller ones) is starting to bite the other 2 big ones at the neck
i first noticed this week and thought he might be getting at the infection since its white and could be something to eat to a res
but now its only visible on the other 2 big ones and now they have open wounds
and i wonder if thats whats been causing the infection in the first place
so ive separated \"the jerk\"
one of my friends who used to raise res said it might be a territorial thing, since my tank is so small - 20 gal

so for now i think i will wait until the wounds are healed and see what i can do about getting them a bigger living space
but then they will just fight when they get bigger, wont they?

btw can someone point me to a website that sells these products

ive kept \"the jerk\" separated
i tried putting him in with the others but he bit at the fungus area again so im contiuing to keep him separated
the infections look alot better and i think they will go away in a couple of weeks

I have read that sulfa blocks don\'t do any good for your turtle.
