This is an interesting question, but I\'ve heard that canned dog food is amazing for turtles nutritionally, and that they love to eat it.
One of my friends who works at a pet shop kept 2 red ear sliders for 5 years and said that they loved the stuff.
I\'m just curious if any of you guys have tried that or heard anything about it?
Can you guys give me verification?
I think it sounds like a good idea...

I\'m sure they\'d love to eat it, but canned dog food, especially as a staple in the diet is not a good idea (I\'ve read of giving some to a turtle that\'s refusing to eat, but that\'s only to get him eating again). Canned dog food is too fatty and has too many chemicals. Turtles need a varied diet. For feeding examples take a look at http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/aquaticdiet.htm (I think that rehydrated dry dog food is included as part of a varied diet).
