I was thinking of adding something more to my RES (Gary) than the Nutramin gammarus and occasional guppies. Specifically I was thinking salmon (cheap, and abundant). Is it ideal to use raw sushi-quality salmon or should I cook it bare (steam, boil). And after that should I leave the food bits floating with the rest of it or should i lay the bits of salmon on the basking area? Also, I was thinking of adding insects. What kind should I use and again would I want to float them in the water or lay them on the basking area? Any help would be appreciated.

I feed my turtle guppies that i breed, reptomin pellets(as a staple diet, gammarus(as a treat only), and occasionally live crawfish, they stay at the bottom. You can feed your turtle worms, crickets, carrots, or romaine lettuce as well.
Good Luck:p
ps. make sure you are feeding your turtle pellets as well because the other things you listed are not meant as a staple diet but a treat or snack
