I have breed guppies for my turtle for a year and now that he is a year old and almost 4 inches i wanted to try and breed something else for him:) Today i bought two water snails from a pet store one is black and one is yellow.I am interested in breeding snails for my turtle. The problem is i have a few questions about them??? I do not know what kind of snails they are is it ok to try and breed them or feed them to my turtle? Also are snails good for turtles? What do the turtles do with the snails shell will it hurt them if they eat it? are there any types of snails that could hurt turtles? Also does anyone have any information or helpful tips on breeding snails?
Thanx in advance for any help:D

I found this sites that could be helpful:

I hear ramshorn snails are the fastest to reproduce. Keep them in around 75 degree water with some plants and in a few weeks voila! babies up the ying yang.
Don\'t feed the original parents to your turtles though because they can contain parasites. All offspring is ok to feed. I hear they\'re a good source of calcium and makes a good treat.
I don\'t know if turtles actually munch through shells or if they just pick the body out.
