Hey everyone...I\'m back with another turtle question. My RES Penny has recently developed a tiny red spot on her chin. It almost looks as if she has cut herself or has a tiny blood blister. Is it common for turtles to cut themselves, or does this sound like something more serious? It isnt really a discoloration or tinting, but just a tiny blood red spot. Perhaps a bruise even? She and her tank made Lulla have both been acting perfectly normal...eating, basking, swimming, playing, etc. Please let me know if its common for a turtle to cut/bruise themselves.

Thanks in advance,
Jessica

I have no idea if this is a sign of illness or not. Watch for activity changes.
If you have any sharp or rough objects in the tank then cutting or scraping can happen. Sand down anything that is too sharp - corners, parts of rocks.
