I\'m am moving my 4 yr old RES to an outdoor pond in Southern California. My 750 gallon pond is also home to 7 koi fish. I\'m worried that my turtle will try to bite and eat the fish. The koi are about 5 inches long... and my turtle is about 5 inches long as well. Does anyone know if there will be any problem with my RES living amongst the koi? I read that adult RES\'s become herbivores so I\'m hoping that my turtle will lose his appetite for other fish soon. Can anyone give me any advice??

I heard they begin to become less carnivorous and more herbivorous at about a year old. Does your turtle eat veggies? will he/she eat fish still? My turtle is almost a year and he still likes fish but he is starting to eat veggies as well. Your turtle sounds old enough that he will not eat your koi fish. Also i heard that they wont try to eat anything that is bigger than or around the same size as themselves:D
