Hello. We have had our tutle for about 1 and half months now and she is about 4 years old.picked upoff the ground from father in law with ants all over her. Since we have had her I have been trying to get her tank set up but can\'t decide which way to go. I know that she is a water turle but never comes out of the water even when we put her on her rocks she will quickly get back in. She sticks her nose up to get air and goes back down. She eats realy good and loves to be talked to. But I would realy like to know what kind of water turtle she is. If anyone can help PLEASE do. Marilyn

If your turtle has red/orange markings on the side of her head(ears)with a plastron that looks like somebody doodled(drawed) on it he or she is most likely a Red Ear Slider Turtle. If your turtle has an orange/yellow plastron(belly)with a blackish/olive green shell, with either yellow or orange lines on its legs, butt, head, tail, and neck with red or orange tiny triangles along the rim of its shell(scutes)he/she is most likely a Type of painted turtle such as an eastern painted turtle like i have.
Good Luck:)
