My fiance\'s turtle, Bender (our turtles share a tank), will every once in a while draw in his hind legs and \"float\" around using only his front legs to guide him. I looked at previous posts and no one described this problem. He does swim, bask and otherwise act normal. This floating thing is the only weird part. My turtle is acting just fine, so \"it\'s\" not contagious. If you have any ideas, feel free to post them. I\'m open to anything! -Kelly

Just curious, but how big is your tank and how big are the turtles? Have you noticed if the turtle\'s toes have been bitten or otherwise nipped at? If the space is too small, there can be aggression. If there has been, maybe the turtle is wary of keeping his back legs out all the time. (A guide for tank size is 10 gallons of tank/container per inch of shell lengthwise. Add their two lengths together to find out the proper size for both of them.)
