Hey,
I purchased a log today from the pet store to create a ramp for my turtle for him to bask because he is not being able to reach the rock and I went to work, when I came back the whole tank was red. I took out most of the water and put new water in but there is little particles floating all over the tank and he is still not basking.
Any suggestions??

Here is something I found on a website that carries reptile supplies. I have been wanting one for my RES, hopefully this is sturdy enough for your turtle.

It probably had dye in it and most likely was made for land reptiles and not meant to get wet. I stacked rocks CAREFULLY to create a land area and a little cave to swim through. I have heard of plastic ones that can be suction cupped to the side of the tank and they float. The water shouldnt be too high that the turtle cant swim up to it to get out. If you do not have the basking area 7-10 degrees warmer than the water the turtle wont get out to bask. It should be about 90 degrees in the basking area.
