I have a couple questions. I have a baby RES. His name is MR. I see tiny little bubbles in his tank now. Why is that?

I didn\'t know that I should be feeding baby turtles lettuce, etc. I just have been giving him floating turtle pellets. Should I start giving him all that stuff or just leave him be?

Should I not turn off his light at night? He needs one on all the time?? The light is sometimes making it above 84 in there. I figured he\'d like the rest??

Thanks so much

First off.... DO NOT FEED YOUR TURTLE ICEBERG LETTUCE!! Other kinds are ok - also, no spinich.... Iceberg lettuce has NO nutritional value at all, even for humans, and causes problems with turtles. (it does with hamsters also!) Check out this page:

Here\'s another good source of info:

As for the bubbles in your tank, I know that when I clean out Joe\'s tank and put in fresh water, little bubbles form on the sides of the aquraium, they do go away after a day or two. I don\'t know if this is what you are referring to or not.....

oops... I forgot. Yes, you should turn off the \"SUN\" at night - here is an excellent link to whatever questions you may have about lighting. Also, do not use a black light at night, it can cause your little one to go blind.... Hope all the info I included helps just a bit - and congratulations!!

Turn the light off at night. If you think about it, if the turtle was in the wild, the sun would come up in the morn. and set in the eve. so treat it lke being in the wild. no ice burg lettice. the a reason they can\'t have it. the are meat eaters when lil, and eat letice when older. choped up worms and chicken is good when young. i don\'t know what could be causing bubbles. is the water clean?would you have put something in the water to make it bubble? it\'s probably nuthing.
