My Slidders appear to be doing wonderfully inside in my 55 gal for the winter, but the female rarely gets out of the water despite two logs to bask on. The male is out of the water and on the logs all the time, but the but I have rarely seen the female do this. Should I be concerned. What should I do?

Is your basking area 10 degrees warmer than the water. If not it needs to be for them to want to get out. Also if you have recently gotten them, it may take a while for her to get use to you. Mine didnt bask when I was around at all for a while, then he began to get out and now he doesnt run back into the water when he sees me. They do need to get out and let their shells dry so they dont get shell rot.
