I noticed on one of my RES, the claws are darker than the other RES i have. The RES with the lighter claws is like huge compared to the other. Could claw color be a sign of what gender they are?

I know males tend to have bigger claws than females, but never heard of color difference.

Not all turtle are the same color, so the different color nail is most likely normal.

Males have longer claws then females. Turtles have a blood vessle in their claws. This blood vessle makes the milky colored claw look dark. In males the claw is longer, so the blood vessle doesn\'t reach all teh way to teh end. This makes the end of teh claw look milky colored and the part where teh blood vessle is look dark. So maybe its just a matter of how long the turtles claw is. Hoep this helped,
Willie
