Can someone let me know a good UVB light brand? I can\'t seem to find one in my area. The closest I found was a light that was UVB and UVA and noticed it was giving out that much heat. So if someone can let me know of a good UVB light brand, I will look it up online and order it if I have too. Thanks!

I have Reptisun 5.0 and have heard it is a good brand. That is only UVB and is to help the turtle absorb calcium so it\'s shell stays hard and it doesnt get metabolic bone disease. The other light you need can be just a regular light bulb. It is only for the heat. The UVB wont put out heat unless you buy a combo and they are pretty expensive. I am using a 75 watt, but it just depends on your tank and how close it is. You need to keep the basking temp about 10 degrees hotter than the water so the turtle will get out and bask to keep from shell rot due to lack of drying out. If you have other questions let us know. Here are a few sites for lighting.

Be sure that you DO NOT put the light over screen or glass. It will filter out the UVB rays. You can research these sites for other info as well. Good luck
