my RES who is around 4-5 inches long has always been very active. Likes to swim alot, bites at anything, eats alot.
I notice him biting at his arms. He used to do this when his skin was shedding. But today, I noticed what looks like a small wound on his left arm. It looks about 1 millimeter in diameter but is pinkish. Not bleeding. He is no longer shedding his skin. Is something wrong with him that he is biting himself? Should I wait and watch the wound to make sure it doesnt get worse? Or should I do something to treat it?

If it`s a superficial wound (maybe he cut or scraped himself?), you could wash it with diluted betadine (color of weak tea) and put some Neosporin on it. Keep him out of the water for a while (an hour or so) to let it soak in. Keep the water really clean so it doesn`t get infected. If it worsens or refuses to go away, it would be good to see a vet.
