my two turts have been keeping their eyes closed alot while they are under the water. Is this normal?

Are they otherwise active and eating well?

IS there clorine in the water. If so it could be bothering the turtles eyes and you might need to get a declorinater such at reptisafe whice u can get at petstores such as petsmart.

I agree with mylke, if there is chlorine in there I suggest you get a chlorine remover. Is his or her eyes open when on land because you said underwater. The sooner you get these answers posted the sooner the answers come

Do they rub at their eyes when they`re in the water as well? If so, it could be the chlorine or some other irritant.

They are mostly open but sometime they fall asleep on land. Other than closing their eyes they are eating and swimming normaly. The water may have chlorine in it but its the same water I always use.

when they fall asleep on land it is okay. Do you use sink water? Or do you used bottled water? Or do you use sink water with chlorine remover?

sink water. ive always used it and it never seemed to bother
them
