how much water can my fully grown mud turtle have in his 20g tank

They usually say that you only want the water as high as the width of the shell but i have learned that this is not true w/ mud turtle just make sure he looks comfortable they love high water. if you have any more questions just E MAIL me i will respond quickly.

http://www.chelonia.org/Articles/kinosternidaecare.htm contains a caresheet for mud turtles. They spend most of their time on the bottom, and although water depth is not as important for adults as younger ones, really deep water could be stressful for them. 8-12 inches was recommended depending on the size of the adult.
