Bottom of Shell

My RES Herbie, has little brown spots on the bottom of his shell. Are their any suggestions to fix this??? I do not have a UV light yet, could this be the problem?? Thanks Again

What do you mean by little brown spots? How big are they? Are they peeling? Are they soft? You have to be more specific.

Your turtle should be able to get out of the water and bask under both a UVB light and a heat source (either a basking light or a regular bulb). You need both, and your turtle should have them ASAP. Basking area temp. should be 85-90 F.

The spots are kinda of soft...but it looks like they are peeling too. I hope it is not soft shell disease :(

Then get him a proper set-up as was described above.

can shell dieseae be from not getting enough calcium?
