Instead of using a uvb light, is it okay to bring my turtles outside to bask in sunlight? If so, how long do you think they should be out there for?

Unfiltered sunlight (not through windows, etc.) is probably the best way to get UVB rays. If you don`t have a UVB light, it needs to be done regularly though--at least several times a week for a few hours each time. Make sure your turtle has a shaded area it can go to if it wants to get out of the sun, and supervise it, don`t just leave it out (so nothing gets at it). If you can`t do it on a consistant basis (or if the weather gets too cool), you need a UVB light.

Yep. sunlight is realy healthy for a turtle. but y9ou need to make sure you do it a lot. i hink its easier to have a uvb light because that way you dont have to worry about watching him allthe time outside for a few hours. in the winter if it gets really cold is might not be the best idea because they can ctch a cold or have a respitory problem.good luck.
