I bought capt jack (my RES) some feeder fish to play with. He is only a month old and about the size of a silver dollar. in the past 24 hours he has managed to eat 6 of them... PLUS about a 8 turtle pellets...

this is weird since when i first started posting it was because he wouldnt eat... now he won\'t stop.

Be careful not to overfeed him. A rule of thumb for portion size is the amount that would fit into his head, not including the neck. Up to a year feed once a day, after that every other day (make veggies freely available if your turtle eats them--most likely not yet).

For feeder fish, guppies and minnows are better than goldfish. Goldfish are fatty, more apt to have parasites and contain a substance that breaks down vit. B.

after i posted that... i realized that the fish were hiding under a rock. so he only ate 2 total. They are rubies? i think? they are small and look like guppies only pinkish.
