I have been told that you can keep turtles outside in the winter if there is room for them below the frost line. I almost lost a turtle last year because i left it out all winter and early this spring the water thawed then refroze again my turtle got caught in the newly frozen ice because she had come up off the bottom during the few days the water wasn\'t frozen. I found her just in time to chip/melt her out and then had to go threw the process of warming her very careffully.

I had posted a link to the Tortoise Trust Website which had an article about hibernating turtles, the following is that link:

http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/Refrigerator.htm

This next one is from the same Website, that is where the prior link was from:

http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/articles.html

There are several articles like how to hibernate your turtle and also how to safely wake him up, as well as other safety concerns.

I hope that helps. Good luck.

u have to read a lot about hibernation b4 undergoing that process with ur turtles..
if u have room inside with a heater and all the needed stuff then it\'s better to keep it in rather than take that risk

I\'m sure since you\'re younger than some of us, you probably get to see it before we do, If you ever do any exploration in space, do me a favor, write my name on some planet somewhere so I can have my name up in the stars:D
