I have a red ear slider he is still a young one. Recently I noticed that he isnt active, and doesnt eat as usual. Also I saw him few times opening his mouth. I have spectrum light and am keeping a around 70-75 degree water warm. I feed him twice a day. I have some dry land for him, but i havent seen him basking in the sun lately. The only thing I feed him is dried shrimp. Lately I noticed that his shell is getting very soft, you can just apply a little pressure and its bending, its not his whole shell, just his back part, please help, I dont know where to start.

Try to put The RES in some warmer water 80-85 degrees. Buy a heater and a fliter one that is agreeable with the amount of water that is in the tank and get a nice warm basking area. ok

Robbie,
your turtle may have soft shell. dried shrimp is probably not enough for your turtle. Try feeding him commercial food pellets, which have vitamins. Also give him plenty of sunlight and a dry basking area. Make sure your tank water is clean.
You should bring him to a vet if you don\'t know what the problem is.
