IS it ok to use warm water just for feeding purposes? I have a RES and I take him out to a seperate rubbermaid for feeding, I was wondering if using warm water is ok. I live in Canada, so it will take me more time to warm up water.

The water should be just slightly warmer than the water in his tank (assuming the tank is around 77-82 degrees F).

I also feed my turtles outside of their tank. I use a pitcher and empty out enough water for them to be feed in. Almost 3 galloons and then feed them. While there are eating, I then put fresh water into the tank. I actually use just cold water and since my tank is 47 gallon tank the cold water doesn\'t drop the temp. more then 1 or 2 degrees. Using the water from the tank to fill up the feeding tank, make the transition easier on them and then their tank gets a few galloons of fresh water.
