yawning turtle?

hey, my turtle\'s yawning... it\'s cute, but is it bad?

I wonder, I was just about to post the same question. Mine only yawns once in a while, but i never noticed it before.

Hey...my slider yawns too...every once in a while while it\'s basking. I have had my turtle for 3 years and I think it\'s doing great.

Yawning is normal..as long as it is not too often. If you see your turtle yawn frequently it could a sign os respiratiory infection.

I agree with Jude. I noticed ours was \"yawning\" a lot, then I realized she was actually doing it in a regular pattern and that it was the only way she could breathe. They aren\'t normally mouth breathers. We took her to the vet and she had pneumonia. She had to have shots of antibiotics for a few weeks but is still doing fine two years later.
