I have a RES about 1 1/3 inch in shell lenght, and I just noticed just now, the plastron has a bit of pinkish colour to it..in someparts darker. What could this be?
There are no turtle vets in my area. Could this be MBD?..Please help ASAP.

i found this hope it helps

Seeing red or pink coming through the plastron or going along the scutes of the carapace, usually indicate Septicemia, but not always.

This is a serious condition and should be attended by a qualified herp vet as quickly as possible. Turtles with septicemia are usually, but not always, found withdrawn into their shells for lengthy period of time. They can be found basking this way, setting at the bottom of the water or floating in this manner. Other signs may also include vomiting and/or a reddish tint in the skin or plastron. It is not uncommon to find a reddish tint between scutes on the carapace.

treatment

Take to qualified vet ASAP.
