Unfortuantely I don\'t belive you can use the two words \"good\" and \"affordable\" in the same sentence about a filter. There is not one that exists. I used a duetto 100 filter for awhile in a 20 gallon tank. It worked ok. COsts about 20.00. I now have a fluval 304 costs about 90.00 and it ROCKS.

Bottom line you get what you pay for in a filter.

Good Luck

I would get a Fluval submersible Filter. Maybe a Fluval 3 would work ok.

Fluval4 with a foam insert. Change it once a month and don\'t feed the turtle in the tank. Feed it in a separate container.

i use fluval submersibles which are pretty awesome...
don\'t get a filter that is made for smaller tanks just because it is cheaper... i did that and it really got worn out

I have an ovation 400 submersable filter in my 55 gallon that\'s half filled with water. I think it does a pretty good job. It may not be available in all pet stores though. It\'s not too expensive...I think in the $50-60 range, maybe cheaper and the foam cartridges can be squeezed clean and re-used. Also, a website for cheap cartridges is q-pet.com. Hope this helps.
