I was wondering if a strip light(temporarily) would be better than nothing? I\'m on a limited budget and money was needing to be funneled elsewhere and I was wondering if I could put off getting a spotlight for my new baby map turtle for a week or so if I substituted it with a strip light with a fish bulb in it. would that be a uvb bulb in it you think? Thanks

It\'s unlikely there\'s a uvb bulb already in there since fish don\'t need uvb rays. When you decide to purchase one, look for ZooMed (also called Reptisun) brands because they are considered the best. Make sure the fixture is at least 12\" away from the basking area, with the bulb mentioned above or at least 5\" away with any other uvb bulbs. UVB is very important and should be provided a.s.a.p.
Hope this helps!
