Is it a different colour than the rest of the plastron? Does it appear/smell unusaul?
Did you notice any damage to the plastron?

I\'m not sure what to make of this, but it sounds like Metabolic Bone Disease which is very common amoung turtles. This happens when turtles don\'t get enough calcium in their diet, so the body takes it from other sources, such as the bones. This can be serious if not treated. You can check the symptoms here: http://exoticpets.about.com/library/weekly/aa102999.htm it gives some good information on the subject. Even if not all the signs are apparent rigt now, it would be a good idea to provide them with calcium blocks (sold in pet centers) or cuttlebone to nibble on once and a while. I hope this helps!
