My res looks like he\'s missing part of his tail... it just looks a lot shorter then the other two res that I have. Is this common in turtles? Will it grow back? He seems to fine otherwise.

Both of my painteds lost the very tip of their tail but they\'re perfectly fine and it\'s hardly noticable. How big is your RES? How much of the tail is missing? You can put betedine on it to prevent infection. I don\'t think turtles can regenerate lost limbs but if it doesn\'t look to bad, I wouldn\'t worry about it.

my box turtle lost the tip of her tail when I got her; I just figured she was in a fight or something before I got her. The tail won\'t regenerate, but it doesn\'t do any harm.

Do you have all of your turtles together, and if so, how big is your tank? If there`s not enough space, RES can get aggressive towards one another. Also is one more dominant than the others?

Did you just notice it, or was it like that when you first got it?
