Hello, I just joined this forum! I have 2 res in a 33 gallon (a bit small). I got them from a shop that sadly keeps them packed together in plastic containers that don't have an inch of water. They are about 5 years old, both male(I think). My biggest issue with keeping them is money and space. I don't get a lot of pocket money and keeping up with cost is hard. Also, my mom already went crazy when I told her we needed a 33 gallon. I think I can learn a lot more from you guys, and I'll do anything to make my turtles happy!

Hi, welcome to the forum!
I have a RES too since I was like 5 years old. It’s been over 30 years since I got her and probably she was a few years old back then.
You got yourself lifetime friends :)

I've always been told that for each inch of shell, a turtle should have 10 gallons of water. I'm on my 3rd tank with my RES and it's 100 gallons. Luckily male turtles are smaller, but a 33 gallon tank doesn't sound big enough to me.
